Back in 2008, I had this mad idea that just wouldn’t leave me alone.
After years of running student nights and nightclubs, I kept seeing the same thing over and over - sport and team culture were becoming a huge part of young people’s lives.
The socials, the banter, the camaraderie… it reminded me of my own uni days at Loughborough.
Back in 2008, I had this mad idea that just wouldn’t leave me alone.
After years of running student nights and nightclubs, I kept seeing the same thing over and over - sport and team culture were becoming a huge part of young people’s lives.
The socials, the banter, the camaraderie… it reminded me of my own uni days at Loughborough.
Back in 2008, I had this mad idea that just wouldn’t leave me alone.
After years of running student nights and nightclubs, I kept seeing the same thing over and over - sport and team culture were becoming a huge part of young people’s lives.
The socials, the banter, the camaraderie… it reminded me of my own uni days at Loughborough.
I realised there wasn’t a proper British festival that mixed playing sport during the day with throwing a massive party in the evening.
And I thought, why isn’t anyone doing this?
I’d always been well connected with the rugby lads, I knew how to promote, and I definitely knew how to throw a party.
So I decided to take the gamble and try something completely different - a Sport & Music Festival that took team tours to a whole new level.
I realised there wasn’t a proper British festival that mixed playing sport during the day with throwing a massive party in the evening.
And I thought, why isn’t anyone doing this?
I’d always been well connected with the rugby lads, I knew how to promote, and I definitely knew how to throw a party.
So I decided to take the gamble and try something completely different - a Sport & Music Festival that took team tours to a whole new level.

It was a huge risk. Halfway through planning the first festival the costs tripled, and the only option left was to remortgage the house. People thought I’d lost the plot… and maybe I had.
But looking back now, I’m incredibly grateful I took that chance. That mad idea has grown into the world’s largest sport and music festival - all from wanting to bring together the things I’ve always loved: sport, people, and one hell of a good party.
